Thanks to everyone who signed up for Work Weekend, it looks like a lot will be accomplished! Thank you so much for your support! Past Work Weekend Pictures
Each year, the long list of things to accomplish prior to summer camp seems to grow. That's why we are so grateful for the wonderful supporters of DCC who give of themselves to help prepare the facilities for summer campers. Together we can accomplish a lot!
In addition to the usual trail maintenance, once primary goal for the 2013 Work Weekend is to tighten the screws on the lodge roof in hopes of preventing leaks. Heavy rains and loose screws did significant damage on third floor this year. We need to prevent the problem from happening again and also repair the damaged drywall caused by the leaks. Volunteers willing to prepare and serve meals are welcome.
Obviously there is always work to be done. But hopefully work weekend brings volunteers together in a way that is fulfilling as you also enjoy delicious meals during your stay. There will be ample opportunities to catch up with old friends and become acquainted with new ones. Work Weekends are a great way for families to dedicate time together to a project that benefits campers of all ages and to create meaningful memories in the process. There will be time on Friday night to gather around the fire, tell stories, laugh together and relax. It is a wonderful opportunity to help prepare the grounds and facilities for the busy season and log volunteer hours toward membership.
Volunteers are encouraged to notify us of your intention to participate so that we can plan for meals, tools and supplies. If you are coming as a youth group, please bring at least one adult for every 6 teens. THANKS! Register by calling 541-992-2556 or at .
We welcome your help and appreciate your support. Folks are welcome to come out any time on Friday and bring a sack lunch. We'll prepare a light meal Friday evening. Please bring snacks to share and enjoy time together. Saturday breakfast & lunch will be provided.
