Each year, the long list of things to accomplish prior to summer camp seems to grow. That's why we are so grateful for the wonderful supporters of DCC who give of themselves  to help prepare the facilities for summer campers. Together we accomplished a lot last year and the newly painted lodge interior looks fabulous! This year we are looking forward to deep spring cleaning and getting ALL those windows washed!
Outside there will be trail maintenance, mole hill raking and pothole filling. There will be wood to cut, kindling to chop and shingles to chip. The rest of the bridge and the yurt need to be power washed and the floor in the Yurt needs to be sealed. Batten board needs to be installed on Yamhill. As for the kids, they are invited to help with litter patrol around camp!

Volunteers willing to prepare and serve meals are welcome.

Obviously there is always much work to be done.  But hopefully our work weekend brings volunteers together in a way that is both fulfilling and enjoyable.  We will provide home-cooked meals  and complimentary espresso drinks.  There will be ample opportunities to catch up with old friends and become acquainted with new ones. Work weekends are a great way for families to dedicate time together to a project that benefits campers of all ages and to create meaningful memories in the process. There will be time on Friday night to gather around the fire, tell stories, laugh together and  relax.  It is a wonderful opportunity to help prepare the grounds and facilities for the busy season and log volunteer hours toward membership.

Volunteers are encouraged to notify us of your intention to participate so that accurate planning can be done for food provisions, tools and supplies.  You can register by  calling 541-992-2556 or at . We welcome your help and appreciate your support.  Folks are welcome to come out any time on Friday and bring a sack lunch. We'll grille burgers and the lodge will be open for folks to spend the night. Feel free to bring snacks to share with other volunteers and enjoy the time together. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday and sandwich fixins will be available late afternoon before departure.
