Assistant Teen Volunteer Coordinator Job Description
Responsible
to: Teen Volunteer Coordinator
Note: You must be 17 years of age to apply for position and
able to volunteer the entire five weeks of regular camp which includes
orientation.
Summary
Drift Creek Camp’s Assistant Teen Volunteer Coordinator
is part of the Teen Volunteer Program leadership. This position is open to interested high school youth who
have demonstrated outstanding maturity, work ethic, and leadership potential. This program forms a foundational
experience of Christian service in a camp setting that helps to equip youth with
an attitude of service, spiritual growth, work ethic, and social experience for
future ministry opportunities.
Responsibilities
Put
into action the purposes and objectives of the Staff Manual
Share
in the responsibility of making camp a great experience for all campers
Contribute
to a spirit of unity, teamwork, and loyalty among staff
Greet
campers and parents on registration day.
Assist in check-in.
Check
schedule of duties and lead (by example) teen volunteers in performing assigned
duties (dishes, child care, bathroom cleaning, etc.)
Maintain
an attitude of flexibility and availability
Attend
fireside, meals, and help with camp activities as needed
Maintain
a Christ-like attitude in words, dress, and actions during week and weekends
Ensure
teen volunteers are awake at the appropriate time to begin morning duties. And,
ensure participants are in their assigned rooms and prepared for rest at the
designated lights out time.
Be
prepared to be placed in a cabin as an assistant counselor if needed

Ability
to work cooperatively as a team member

genuine interest in working with and caring for youth in a camp setting
