2012 Summer Staff Information
2012 Summer Staff Application

We are glad that you are interested in using the gifts and skills that God has given to you to be a part of DCC’s camp program.  If working at DCC sounds like an opportunity you would like to pursue, fill out the application and submit it at your earliest convenience. Once we receive your file, we will contact references and determine whether an interview is the next step.

We have two basic goals for the staff and campers in our summer camp program.  These are to:

  • Develop our relationship with Christ through service, fellowship, prayer, quiet reflection, worship, and Bible study
  • Discover God’s goodness through Christ-centered community, exploration of His creation, fun activities, and building relationships

Due to the necessirty for major repairs, DCC's only access road will be closed for two months during the summer of 2012. We are happy that we will still have summer camp, however, the season will be abbreviated and camps will run back to back and some grades will be combined. Nonetheless, we look forward to meaningful experiences for both staff and campers!

If you are unfamiliar with DCC's camp traditions, highlights include polar bear swimming in our pristine mountain stream, hikes through towering ancient forests, tubing around "the Loop", exploring the wonder of Creation, morning chapel in the amphitheater surrounded by giant hemlocks, evening firesides with clear views of starry nights, and group games like Capture the Flag!

We keep camps small with 50-85 campers each session. We find that smaller programs provide more opportunities for building meaningful relationships among campers, staff and volunteers.

Summer staff positions include:

Compensation:

Summer employment at DCC is voluntary service.  DCC provides its staff with a stipend that helps with expenses as well as on-site benefits.  These include:

  • Meals and lodging
  • Illness and accident insurance
  • Stipend details coming soon....

DCC is willing to contact your college or home congregation if they provide matching grants.

Surf Camp 2012 Camp Schedule
Surf camp happens after our last week of “regular” camp and is not considered to be part of full summer employment.  We will only need a small number of
counselors for this program.  If you are interested, please indicate that on your counselor application and apply early.  We won't be able to accommodate everyone who wants to do surf camp.  Priority will be given to senior staff and those with lifeguard certification & surfing experience.
