Mennonite Association of Retired Persons (MARP) in Lancaster, PA and Drift Creek Camp in Lincoln City, OR are co-sponsoring an "Over 50 Retreat" to be held at Drift Creek Camp on May 11 - 13, 2009. Marlene Kropf, director of the Office of Congregational Life and minister of worship for Mennonite Church USA and Associate Professor in Spiritual Formation and Worship at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, IN will be leading a retreat on Contemplative Christianity in the Celtic tradition, dating back to 200 AD. Those attending will focus on activities that include a daily ordering of life to experience God through the Biblical word, music, nature, and other visuals. Participants will also enjoy fellowship, meals, and other camp activities during the retreat. Click on flyer below to download pdf copy.

Bible, tablet, pen, pillow, sleeping bag or bedding. (linens are available to rent from DCC for $20 per set), flashlight, walking shoes, camera
questions for local Mennonite historian, Maraget Shetler
desire to connect with peers and an appetite for delicious home-made meals

Tuesday, May 12

  9am       Singing in Chapel
  9:30      Session with Marlene Kropf
  11:00    Elective activites
  12:00    Lunch
  1:00       Elective activities throughout afternoon (nature hikes, genealogy study,  
                   MARP question and answer time, comforter tying,  etc.)
  5.30        Dinner
  6:30        Evening session with Marlene
                    followed by free time and gathering around the fire
