Fishing Retreat
February 1 - 3

Important Announcement:   Due to low rate of registration, poor fishing conditions and the potential for hazardous driving conditions, this year's Fishing Retreat has been canceled.
Yamhill Cabin is available for those interested, please call (541) 992-2556 to make arrangements.

The reason most folks attend this weekend retreat is to pursue  the wily oncorhynchus mykiss, that’s steelhead to you and me, but that’s not the only reason to come enjoy Drift Creek Camp’s coastal setting for the weekend. This year we have put an emphasis on making the weekend inviting to families with childcare for the little ones and planned activities for older kids. There will be something for everyone! Curt Stutzman will teach optional rod-building and fly-tying classes. Folks can gather for table games or relax by the fire. On Sunday morning, time will be set aside for worship and reflection. This event is open to all members of the family, not just those who fish. So pack up your gear and come spend a relaxing weekend at Drift Creek Camp.

The cost is $75 per adult and $25 per child age 3-12.  Feel free to register online or download a registration form and send it in.

Stephen Ogg (pictured with some of Drift Creek’s finest) and his brother Timmy will be available for instruction and guiding if you are unfamiliar with steelhead fishing and/or the streams around Drift Creek Camp.  There’s never been a better time to learn how to fish at DCC!

We are excited to have Curt Stutzman teaching a rod building class at this year's Fishing Retreat.  If you want to build a rod the things you will need are.  Blank, set of guides, tip top, hook keeper, thread, handle, and reel set for the kind of rod you are building.  You will also need thread finish.

Check out Shoff tackle, they have some good beginner kits.

Here are some links for more information about rod building.
