Contributions to Drift Creek Camp
It has been said that one should "never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world." This idea holds so true with the existence of Drift Creek Camp. In the early 1960s, a group of dedicated Mennonites had a vision for providing outdoor experiences for the children and young adults in their congregations and communities. DCC would simply not exist today had it not been for their courage and faith to make their vision a reality.
Today that ministry continues. Folks continue to invest in Drift Creek through generously giving of their time and resources. Investing in Drift Creek today, means providing a gift for tomorrow's children so that the camp experience can be a reality for generations to come. In the nearly 50 years since its birth, energy demands and supply costs have increased dramatically. Now, more than ever, DCC depends on your gifts to help maintain and improve all that we have and do. We do our best to stretch the value of each dollar you entrust to the organization. 16-20% (nearly $50,000 annually) of camp's operating budget depends on the generosity of donors. As we face the growing needs of aging facilities and the desire to operate more sustainably, that giving becomes even more crucial to camp operations.
There are many reasons why it is important to continue the tradition of giving to Drift Creek. Your donations are crucial to the following:
